The consortium of partners Flycom Technologies, C-Astral and IRNAS is successfully advancing the project “LIFT Forest – eVTOL AI”, which is being implemented in the framework of the Call for Pilot Demonstration Projects for Recovery and Resilience (NOO).

The project combines advanced technologies for forest management and the use of drones equipped with technologies such as 3D LiDAR and RGB sensors. The aim is to create an accurate digital twin of the forest, enabling improved forest management and better insight into the state of forest biomass.
A demonstration flight was successfully carried out in the Fala area, where the drone covered part of a forest area. The acquired data were analysed and displayed in a viewer that allows to perform measurements and display the captured products, such as vector layers and a classified point cloud. Based on this data, the amount of woody biomass in the test area was also calculated and reports were generated.
