On May 26, the GeoDev Meetup #15 was held in Ljubljana, where three interesting topics were presented.
Our company was represented by Vid Primožič, who presented the role of AI agents in geospatial tasks.
He shared our perspective on the development and application of AI agents for spatial data with the attendees, and highlighted the importance of specific characteristics that differentiate geospatial agents from general-purpose ones (e.g., for administration or coding).
The lecture was based on experiments with an AI-GIS prototype developed at Flycom Technologies. This is an autonomous agent that translates natural language queries into verifiable SQL queries over a PostGIS open data database.
Thanks to the OSGeo Slovenia association for organizing the event, and to Jaša Dimič (PRIOT d.o.o.) and Tomaž Šturm (OSGeo Slovenia) for presenting the other two topics.
