DEVELOPING AN INTEGRATED GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM

datum objave:

Flycom’s strategy in recent years has been to develop an advanced IT solution called GMS, or “Grid Monitoring System”, based on GIS (Geographic Information System) technology, which addresses the specific user needs of electricity operators and solves the current problems of the industry in the field of integration of information systems for modern water management and maintenance and improvement of existing work processes.

The challenge
The GMS software solution aims to eliminate the main limitations of using GIS systems in the energy sector: poor or non-existent connectivity with DRI systems and limited use of existing data for efficient management and maintenance purposes.
The project aims to develop an integrated geographic information system for advanced monitoring and maintenance of smart electricity grids.
The implementation foresees the development of a GIS interface that will allow the exchange of data according to the Common Information Model (CIM) standard, the development and commercial launch of a spatial module of the GMS GIS system for risk assessment and prioritisation of works and better response in case of unplanned outages on the EE network, and the display of the location of outages on the network on the geographical interface of the GMS GIS programme in (near) real time.

The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.
