New arrival – DA42 MPP GeoStar aircraft

16. Dec 2022

Flycom Technologies is completing 2022 with a major addition – another DA42 MPP aircraft, which will enable us to further strengthen our role as a key player in the acquisition of aerial spatial data in Slovenia and abroad.

The DA42 MPP GeoStar is designed to carry a variety of medium format laser sensors and cameras, which are mounted in a special nose section of the aircraft. The important thing is that the new aircraft will allow us to fly longer and faster flights with possible combinations of orthophoto, oblique and/or LiDAR data capture.

Vid Jakopin, Head of Remote Sensing: “With another DA42 MPP aircraft, we will be able to more efficiently address our customers’ growing needs for multi-sensor aerial data. The aircraft will be immediately used for LiDAR and orthophoto data acquisition in the Multisensor Aerial Survey of the Republic of Croatia project. With the second MPP in our fleet, we have also avoided potential complications to our already complex airborne remote sensing operations and secured another reliable and cost-effective platform for our aerial work. ”

Mario Spiegel, Sales Manager, Special Mission Aircraft Division, Diamond Aircraft Austria: “The aircraft can be operated at a lower cost than conventional aerial platforms. The DA42, with its efficient engines that consume less and lead-free fuel, allows Flycom Technologies to operate its flights in the most environmentally friendly way currently possible.”

Flycom Technologies has successfully obtained funding for the establishment of the aircraft platform under the Call for the promotion of large investments for higher productivity and competitiveness in the Republic of Slovenia (JR INVEST 2022-NOO).
