This spring, in a consortium with the Austrian company IBV-KRANK, we started the project “Laser aerial photography and digital elevation modeling of the Austrian Länder of Carinthia and Styria”. The service is contracted by the Federal Office for Calibration and Geodetic Services (BEV), which is also the representative of the two Länder and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism.
The project is a two-year project and, in addition to the laser scanning of an area of approximately 7000 km2, a key part of the project is the classification of the point cloud and the implementation of a digital elevation model of part of the Länder in southern Austria.
